Out and About with Overture Home Care: September 2024

September was a bustling month for our team, filled with engaging events, meaningful connections, and memorable celebrations. Here’s a recap of what we accomplished together!

Floral Arranging at The Stayton

We started off the month with a delightful floral arranging workshop at The Stayton at Museum Way. Residents gathered to explore their creative sides while crafting beautiful arrangements. It was a wonderful way to bond and enjoy the beauty of flowers together.

Meeting at Parker County Trending Women

Next, we participated in a dynamic meeting with Parker County Trending Women. This event provided a platform for networking and discussing initiatives that empower women in our community. The inspiring conversations and shared experiences left us all motivated to take action in our own lives and professions.

Celebrating Rehab Week (Sept. 16-22)

We celebrated Rehab Week in various ways, collaborating with multiple partners to highlight the importance of rehabilitation services. From special presentations to fun activities, we emphasized the impact of rehab in improving lives and fostering recovery.

Dementia Live Simulation at Belmont Village

Our team had the privilege of conducting a Dementia Live simulation at Belmont Village Senior Living - Turtle Creek. This eye-opening experience allowed participants to gain insight into the challenges faced by individuals with dementia. The feedback was overwhelmingly positive, and it reinforced our commitment to providing compassionate care.

Board and Brush Professional Referral Source Event

We also attended a Board and Brush professional referral source event, where we connected with local professionals while unleashing our creativity on personalized wooden crafts. It was a fantastic opportunity to build relationships and enjoy a fun, hands-on experience.

Quarterly Nurses Meeting

Our quarterly nurses meeting brought together our dedicated nurses for clinical reviews and expert insights. A special thanks to Dana Groggins, PA from First Call Medical Concierge, for sharing her valuable expertise with us. It’s always inspiring to see our team come together with a shared commitment to providing the best care possible for our clients.

Faith-based Bridge Round Table Breakfast at The Ridglea Senior Living

The Overture Home care team was proud to sponsor this faith-based breakfast for the Tarrant Area Gerontological Society (TAGS) along with Ride N Safe this past month! This event was not only informative but also a great opportunity to engage with fellow community members. Thank you to Deidra Kindred, RN for educating us on the role of Nurse Advocates.

Aledo AdvoCats Luncheon

We were pleased to attend the Aledo AdvoCats Luncheon, which focused on raising funds to help children and their families in the communities of Aledo ISD. It was an enriching experience to meet with advocates who are passionate about making a difference.

Overture Home Care owner, Rob Helms was joined by Alex, Stephanie, Cherae, and Kenna (members of the Overture Home Care team) along with some Parker County community partners for a delicious lunch and bingo.

Heritage Ranch Health Fair

To wrap up an eventful month, team members, Ashley and Mike set up a booth at the Heritage Ranch Health Fair. This event allowed us to connect with the community, share valuable health information, and promote our services. Engaging with attendees and answering their questions was incredibly rewarding.

September was truly a month of connection, learning, and celebration. We’re grateful for the opportunity to engage with our community and each other through these events. As we look ahead, we’re excited to build on these experiences and continue fostering relationships that enhance our mission. Stay tuned for more updates on our upcoming events!
