Overture Homecare Teams Up with the Department of Veterans Affairs to Support Veterans' Care
We are proud to announce that we are now partnering with the United States Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) to serve eligible clients through their Homemaker/Home Health Aide program. This program offers vital care and assistance to veterans in their own homes, ensuring they receive the necessary support for daily activities and essential care.
What is Homemaker/Home Health Aide Care through the VA?
While our Home Health Aides aren't nurses, they receive supervision from registered nurses who assist in devising personalized care plans for each client. These services are customized to address the individual needs of veterans, including support with tasks like bathing, dressing, meal preparation, and other critical activities. Veterans who may be isolated or rely heavily on family caregivers are particularly well-suited for this program.
Eligibility and Services Offered
Homemaker/Home Health Aide services are part of the VHA Standard Medical Benefits Package, meaning all enrolled veterans are eligible if they meet the clinical need for service. The VA may charge a copay for these services based on the veteran's service-connected disability status.
Services offered are based on assessed needs, determined in consultation with a VA social worker. This assessment helps determine the frequency and level of assistance required, whether it's regular visits throughout the week or occasional support.
Benefits of Homemaker/Home Health Aide Services
For veterans and their families, Homemaker/Home Health Aide services provide numerous benefits:
Maintaining Independence: Veterans can remain in their homes while receiving the assistance they need, rather than moving into nursing homes or other assisted living facilities.
Personalized Care: Services are customized to meet each veteran's specific needs, ensuring they receive the right level of support based on their needs.
Respite Care: Family caregivers also benefit from respite care services, allowing them a break from caregiving responsibilities while knowing their loved ones are well cared for.
