Happy Father’s Day from Overture Home Care!

At Overture Home Care we’re honoring Father’s Day with our partner senior living communities by co-hosting such events as a whiskey tasting, a root beer float celebration, and a poker tournament. But we didn’t stop there. To honor every dad on Sunday, June 16, we’ve also combed local calendars and event listings and put together a lineup of DFW events and activities, tailored to a variety of interests and activity levels — ideal for enjoying that special day with your dad!

Trader’s Village in Grand Prairie goes all out for Father’s Day with a themed ticket Father’s Day Car Show & Concert where you and your dad can enjoy the hot rods, food and festival — and also shop from thousands of vendors in the open-air market. For a more low-key experience without all the vendors, entry to the car show area is free, though parking at the venue charges a small fee.

To make a whole day of car-watching with dad, Central Bible Church in Hurst is also hosting a Father’s Day Car Show featuring hot rods, customs, muscle cars, trucks and classics.

If your dad prefers a different kind of sporting ride, Lonestar Park in Grand Prairie is currently in the middle of their live thoroughbred racing season and will host a special Father’s Day Event on June 16.

Big Shots Golf in North Fort Worth/Alliance is offering a weekend-long Father’s Day Package where dad can enjoy time with the family while practicing his swing in one of 56 private tee boxes, and enjoying treats and meals from the on-site scratch kitchen.

For a more relaxed and luxurious dining experience, check out the array of local eateries offering Father’s Day specials, listed in this Paper City Magazine Father’s Day feature. Many of these restaurants also offer take-out versions of the special menus, for celebrating Father’s Day with your senior loved ones in the peace and privacy of their own homes.

If you’d like prompts for fine-tuning your own Father’s Day experience to your dad’s abilities, interests and needs, check out this list of senior-friendly Father’s Day activities from DailyCaring. The list offers both outdoor and indoor experiences and includes some unique suggestions — like taking dad out for an old-fashioned, barber shop shave-and-a-haircut — that we think you’ll find helpful while putting together your own family plans this June 16.

From the Overture Home Care family to your family, we wish you and your loved ones a joy-filled, heartwarming Father’s Day!
