News: Overture Home Care leadership team earns Certified Dementia Practitioner designations
(Fort Worth, Texas) --- Denise Helms, R.N., CEO of Overture Home Care, a Fort Worth, Texas-based home care service company, has announced that the company now has three Certified Dementia Practitioners on staff: Ms. Helms, executive director Zach Tarrant, and senior vice president Paige Wolk. Ms. Wolk earned her certification previously; Ms. Helms and Mr. Tarrant were certified this year.
“It is our mission and purpose to provide the best, compassionate care and the most independence possible for our clients,” said Ms. Helms. “A crucial part of being able to deliver this level of care is ensuring we relentlessly pursue continued education, particularly around brain health and dementia care. Dementia is a horrible, isolating disease, and we are deeply committed to minimizing the suffering it causes while helping to increase understanding and empathy for its victims and their families.”
According to Overture, the company counts its commitment to continuous training and education of employees as integral to its success. In fact, the leadership designs and maintains an education and training program far exceeding regulatory guidelines.
“Through education, we are stronger as a company and better able to serve our clients and their families,” continued Ms. Helms.
The CDP certification is administered and overseen by the National Council of Certified Dementia Practitioners (NCCDP). According to the NCCDP, “the CDP certification represents that the front line staff and health care professional has received comprehensive knowledge in the area of dementia care, achievement in completing the Alzheimer's Disease and Dementia Care course/seminar, met the NCCDP requirements for CDP certification, applied for the CDP certification and received the CDP certification. A CDP certification reflects a deep personal commitment on the part of the front line staff, health care professional and the organization’s sense of accountability by abiding by NCCDP the Ethics statement, inspiring confidence and dedication in an individual's professional knowledge through quality of life and quality of care provided by the CDP to the dementia patient.”
