Out and about with Overture Home Care!

The Overture Home Care team was out and about all month in August, bringing insights and information to an important senior care podcast, supplying vital training to a senior community in Dallas, and debuting as a featured small business in the new Southlake & Grapevine Scout Guide.

On July 26, our CEO and founder Denise Helms, RN, BSN, CDP appeared on the Senior Care Confidential podcast hosted by Nexus Home Healthcare’s Brian Harmon, PT, MBA.

During the episode — “Taking Steps in Their Shoes: Simulating Dementia for Healthcare Providers and Families” — Denise discusses her journey of discovery through senior health care and her involvement with Dementia Live® training.

Best of all, the podcast features a LIVE demonstration of the hands-on training performed by Denise on podcast host, Brian Harmon. If you have ever been curious about the Dementia Live experience, do not miss this podcast!

As Denise says, “Dementia is such a frustrating disease. But with Dementia Live, you can immerse yourself in a simulation of what it feels like to have dementia. We've had caregivers break down in tears, because it gives such perspective to people who care for people with dementia. It's enlightening."

Watch or listen to the “Taking Steps in Their Shoes: Simulating Dementia for Healthcare Providers and Families” episode, which debuted on July 26, 2023 and is available on iHeartRadio, through Apple and other podcast catalogs, or directly from the Senior Care Confidential Facebook page:

Just this past August 22, Overture Home Care Dementia Live trainers held an all-day training session for residents, staff, family members and referrals at the Belmont Village senior living community in Dallas.

If you are interested in attending an upcoming training session or scheduling a group session, please give us a call at (817) 887-9401 or (214) 887-9401 for more information.

Finally, Denise and Paige met up with Ashlyn Gibbens Lawson and her whole executive team for the August 10, 2023, debut issue of the brand new Scout Guide: Southlake & Grapevine.

We just love the Scout Guides and everything they represent. What started off as one helpful guide to finding local businesses in Charlottesville, VA is now a powerhouse network of support for small businesses and the people who love them in cities across the country.

In the words of original founders, Christy Ford and Susie Matheson, “Our mission is to help you discover people worth meeting, stories worth hearing, and businesses worth supporting.”

At Overture Home Care, we are honored to be included as a business worth supporting in the very first issue of the Southlake & Grapevine guide.
