Out and About with Overture Home Care: May 2024

In May, Overture Home Care staff and caregivers got to be part of many amazing local and regional events and were thrilled to share educational opportunities with our community. Here’s a sampling of everything we were up to in May…

Starting on May 12, we celebrated National Skilled Nursing Care Week with our partners-in-caring at American Health Care Association® / National Center for Assisted Living® (AHCA/NCAL). AHCA/NCAL is an advocacy group that supports care for older adults.

On May 15 we sponsored and fielded a team for the PMR charity golf tournament, raising money to help those suffering from illness or accidents get back to their lives. Founded by a group of D/FW medical professionals almost 20 years ago, PMR Charity works closely with the community to support North Texas families affected by illness or injury.

We always enjoy celebrating our partners in the senior community — and on May 18, we got to celebrate the grand opening of a new North Texas partner community. Welcome to the neighborhood!

On May 21, Overture Home Care’s Executive Director Zach Tarrant, CDP, spoke to a group of Texas Christian University (TCU) retirees about the significance and benefits of home health care.

On May 21, Overture Home Care sponsored the Tarrant Area Gerontological Society (TAGS) Quarterly Luncheon and CEU Event, where our Dallas Community Liaison Julie Mercer volunteered to assist the Age-u-cate Training Institute in providing an important seminar on compassionate touch.

In May, we also welcomed two new Overture Home Care staff members! Our newest case manager, Faith Deterville, comes to us from Houston and brings years of experience and dedication from her work in the home care agency field.

Welcome, Faith!

And Kenna Oaks has joined our team as a college intern. Kenna is studying business management at the University of Texas at Arlington and will be sharing her insights and gaining essential experience at Overture Home Care for the next year.

Glad to have you on board, Kenna!

Finally, throughout the month of May we conducted a full internal revamping of our onboarding process to ensure we are hiring and training the best caregivers and enabling them to envision remaining with Overture Home Care as a lifelong career.

At Overture Home Care, our compassionate caregivers make us who we are. We are honored to be part of their career journey, and we are always looking for ways to support that journey well into the future!
