Out and About with Overture Home Care: November 2024

November was a busy month for Overture Home Care as we spent time connecting with our community, celebrating special occasions, and giving back to those who matter most. From rainy mornings to festive gatherings, here's a look at what we've been up to this November.

End Alzheimer's Walk in Dallas

Mike, Julie, and Julianna kicked off the month by participating in the End Alzheimer's Walk in Dallas on a rainy Saturday morning. Despite the weather, the team showed their support for the fight against Alzheimer's by walking alongside countless others who share the same passion for raising awareness and funding for research. It was a heartwarming and impactful experience, and we are proud to have been part of such an important cause.

Civitas Senior Living Annual Conference

Next, we brought a little fun and excitement to the Civitas Senior Living Annual Conference with our astronaut-themed booth. We had a blast engaging with attendees and sharing information about our services, all while enjoying the lively atmosphere of the event.

Fall Floral Arranging at The Stayton

As the weather turned cooler, we embraced the season with a Fall Floral Arranging event at The Stayton, where residents had the opportunity to create their very own fall floral bouquets. It was a wonderful way to celebrate the beauty of autumn, and the residents loved showcasing their creativity while crafting beautiful arrangements to take home.

Veterans Day Celebrations

November wouldn’t be complete without honoring our veterans. We took time to celebrate Veterans Day at many of our partnering communities, recognizing and honoring the brave men and women who have served in the armed forces. It was an honor to share these moments of gratitude and reflection with so many incredible individuals.

Trucker Hat Event at Silver Dollar Winery

A highlight of the month was at the Trucker Hat Event at Silver Dollar Winery, where we joined some of our referral sources for a fun, hands-on experience. Guests had the chance to customize their own trucker hats by adding patches, and we all had a great time mingling and making new connections.

Wreath Making with Referral Sources

We continued our seasonal celebrations with an annual Wreath Making Event with our referral sources. It’s always a fun and creative way to get into the holiday spirit. Everyone had a blast creating personalized wreaths to bring home and display, all while building connections with others in the industry.

Traditions Sip and Shop

In the spirit of the season, we participated in Traditions Sip and Shop, where we served up delicious charcuterie in a cup. It was a perfect way to enjoy some good food while shopping for unique gifts. The event was a huge hit, and we were thrilled to be part of it.

S'mores Station at Traditions Petting Zoo

One of the most fun and interactive events we attended was at the Traditions Petting Zoo Experience, where we set up a Make Your Own S'mores Station. Families and residents from assisted living, independent living, and memory care communities gathered to enjoy the outdoors and create their own gooey treats. It was a perfect fall evening full of laughter, connection, and, of course, s’mores!

Thanksgiving Lunch at Fort Worth Office

We wrapped up the month by hosting a Thanksgiving Lunch at our Fort Worth office. It was a time to reflect on all the things we are grateful for and enjoy a meal together as a team. The lunch was full of great food, good conversation, and a lot of thanks for the amazing people we work with. We also celebrated Alex Helms 5 year anniversary with the company!

Glass Blowing Class

We also had the opportunity to connect with our referral sources in creative and meaningful ways. We attended a Glass Blowing Class where we made our own Christmas ornaments. These events are always a great way to bond with our referral partners while getting a little creative.

SAGE Luncheon

We participated in the SAGE Luncheon at UNTHSC Fall Jamboree, where we brought delicious fall-themed cookies and treats to share.

Turkey Trot at The Ridglea

We took part in the Turkey Trot at The Ridglea where we handed out pies, turkey, bottles of wine an dCUE to social workers, case managers and nurses!

Wine & Pie at Keller Oaks

Vanessa Hernandez, the newest member of our Overture Home Care team, sponsored the Wine & Pie event at Keller Oaks, where we handed out pies and enjoyed good company as the holiday season began to unfold.

Spreading Post-Thanksgiving Cheer

To cap off the month, Julie and Julianna took to the road on a Saturday morning to bring some post-Thanksgiving cheer to some UTSW case managers and nurses. Armed with mini charcuterie cups, they spent the day spreading smiles and appreciation to those who work tirelessly in healthcare. It was a wonderful way to show gratitude and brighten the day for some amazing health care professionals on the weekend!

November was a month filled with heartwarming experiences, creative moments, and opportunities to connect with the communities and partners that make Overture Home Care so special. We are grateful for the relationships we’ve built and the memories we’ve created throughout the month, and we look forward to even more exciting events in December.

Stay tuned for our next update, and we hope to see you out and about soon!
