We recently had the opportunity to attend a Meals on Wheels of Tarrant County presentation from their dieticians about health and nutrition for our seniors. As our family members age, appetites decline, and factors like illness, medication, or arthritis can affect ability, energy, and desire to prepare and eat nutritious meals. Plus, if your family member has dementia, using the stove is particularly dangerous, so these tips require no heating or use a microwave.

National Stroke Awareness Month is observed every May aims to increase the public awareness about the warning signs of stroke, symptoms of a stroke, stroke prevention, and the impact of stroke on survivors, families and caregivers.

Arthritis is painful inflammation and stiffness of the joints. Unfortunately, arthritis affects roughly around 50% of people who are 65 years or older. It can affect any joint in the body, and, in extreme cases, can lead to unbearable pain.
